Red might not be the first color that comes to mind for Spring, yet it’s going to be really on trend this season. That said, Italians don’t really need the trend excuse to wear this color. They love it so much, some might even see it as a neutral.

This brings me to the first outfit of this post, one that’s perfect for Spring because of the light fabrics and bright colors; I love it so much, I had to share it immediately.

If you don’t like red, or you think the color contrast is too much, feel free to take the outfit concept, and swap the colors. The concept is monochrome with a pop of color, flowy but cinched in at the right places, feminine and classy.

If you’re thinking, “I love red, but where am I going to wear this outfit?”—that’s completely normal. From an Italian woman’s perspective, you don’t need an excuse to wear it. You might not wear it to the grocery store, but it’s perfectly fine for a shopping day, a date night, or even to work—especially if you’re in a creative environment.

How to wear wide leg pants in Spring?

Next, I want to show you an outfit that’s very popular in Spring and Summer. Again, it’s monochrome, but this time it’s all white. This white has a creamy ivory undertone that makes it softer and more classic. Feel free to opt for your favorite shade, the one that best flatters your skin tone.

You can go with a suit, or do like this woman, and match different pieces in the same shade. I think the different fabrics make this outfit really special, particularly that beautiful silky blouse.

You can pair an outfit like this one with any colored shoes and bag, but black is a very classic and classy choice. Italians would love a pop of color like red, yellow, blue, or even pink.

The first is very classy, the type of outfit a more mature woman would love, but it’s also great if you have a more sophisticated personal style.

If you don’t, you can simply swap the coat for a more modern outerwear piece. You can get inspired from the looks that will follow.

This woman is pairing the black wide leg pants with a high quality tailored white t-shirt, black pointed flats, a small black shoulder bag, and the talking piece of this outfit — that white and black paisley patterned Spring coat.

The next one is perfect for work, or for women who love classy modern outfits. It features the same colors — white and black, with a pop of blue. Again, if you don’t like blue, feel free to swap it for another pop of color, or even a contrasting neutral.

The final black outfit I’d like to show you is perfect both for Spring and Fall. It’s one you might love wearing for work, especially if you commute in flats, or don’t feel the need to wear heels.

It’s also a great travel outfit, since it’s both comfortable and put together.

It’s the most contemporary one, and has a very Milan cool girl vibe because of the oversized pieces, and the half tucked in shirt.

You can even dress this down further with a t-shirt. Just make sure it feels elevated, and it’s well ironed.

Casual Wide Leg Pants Outfit

If you are going on a Spring trip, or perhaps you are starting gathering outfit ideas for your Fall vacation, here’s one that works perfectly.

I am sharing two very similar outfits, but the first one feels more appropriate for Spring while the second is great for the end of Winter or colder Fall days.

You have the very important layers, the lighter colors, and it feels elevated while also being practical. That butter yellow shade is gorgeous, just make sure it suits your skin tone. If it doesn’t, replace it with another pastel shade that suits you.

If you happen to be looking for an outfit idea for cream wide leg pants outfit, you can take this as a starting point. Remove the jacket, and swap the shoes and bag. You can dress it up and wear it both throughout Spring and Summer.

Italian-Style Wide Leg Pants Outfits For Summer

From my research, it looks like not many look for wide leg pants outfits ideas for Summer. I find that very surprising. What about you?

I think wide leg pants are amazing for Summer. You can wear them with flat or heeled sandals, even the very popular designer sliders, and always look chic.

If you choose lighter fabrics like linen and silk, you’ll stay cool and feel the breeze thanks to the space the trousers create, given that they don’t cling to the legs.

Italians love them too, and here’s how they style them during the hottest months of the year.

Let’s start with a very classic brown wide leg pants outfit. The pants are in linen, and they are paired with a cream short sleeve top, matching sandals, and brown accessories.

If you are thinking these outfits are basic, well, that’s the idea behind Italian style. Basic high quality pieces are combined together to create simple outfits that feel balanced, tasteful, and timeless.

Monochrome Wide Leg Pants Outfits

The next outfit is far from boring, isn’t it?

It’s bold and fun, while also being classic and tailored. It’s the mix of the tailoring and the bright colors that gives it that beautiful harmonious feel.

In terms of silhouette, you’ll see many women wearing this type of outfit in Italy at this time of year. The tailored sleeveless vest replaces the blazer, while the monochrome look helps maintain a dressier feel—even though it includes elements that might otherwise feel more casual, such as bare arms and flat shoes.

In case you didn’t know, Italian women love wearing coral jewellery in Summer, especially paired with white, cream, and blacks outfits.

If you work in a corporate environment, and it gets very hot where you live, you might get away with swapping your blazer with a tailored vest. If you can’t do that, you can layer the vest underneath, and wear the blazer only when needed.

Wide Leg Pants And Blouse

This is my favorite outfit formula when it gets really hot. While a vest might be sleeveless, its fabric is usually thicker than a silk or cotton blouse.

Wearing a loose breezy two piece outfit is perfect if you are going to Italy in Summer, or anywhere else in Europe.

It allows you to keep cool, but also helps you look the part. It’s the type of outfit that can take you from museum to dinner.

It’s also a great outfit formula for most types of work environments. And you can do like me, and wear it on the weekend to run errands or go shopping.

I will give you two examples: the first feels a little more artistic while the second is a very timeless one.

How To Style Wide Leg Pants For Fall & Winter

If you are in the Northern hemisphere, and you are reading this right after it has been published, you might think Fall and Winter are far away. While that’s true, I think that getting an idea on how to style the same or a similar piece in your wardrobe throughout the season is really important, especially when choosing to invest in a new piece.

In other words, next time you are buying a new pair of wide leg pants, think whether the fabric and color would be wearable throughout the seasons, or at least two or three of them. Next, you’ll want to think about styling them for different weather types.

How to wear black wide leg pants in Fall and Winter?

I wore a very similar outfit to this first one and loved it. This is the kind of outfit you want to wear to work when it starts getting chilly. It’s one I can see a University professor wear, but equally so a teacher, a clerk, or a business woman. The common denominator is that these women all love feeling chic and wearing timeless outfits. Those shoes give this outfit that little edge that makes it stunning.

If your black pants have a medium thick fabric, you’ll be able to wear them in Winter too. If it gets really cold, just wear thermal leggings or tights underneath.

This outfit feels very Winter appropriate. The warm coat is flowy enough to allow multiple layers underneath, and that relaxed look makes it feel more modern but still very classy.

Of course, you can take the black outfit underneath and style it with different styles and colored coats. Match the accessories or add another neutral, or pop of color, depending on your personal style.

Wide Leg Pants with Boots

We’ve already seen one outfit with boots, but let me show you another two — one here and one in the next section. Both outfits feature pants with a slight crop, showing that wide leg pants are really versatile when styling.

Finally, I want to end this post showing you two wide leg pants outfits in one of the most popular Winter colors — burgundy.

One of them is more casual, perfect for a very cold day, whether you are doing school drop-offs and pick-ups, or you are going on a Winter vacation.

The second one, features boots and is one of those versatile outfits that can take you on a date night, to work, or for brunch with the girls. It all depends on your style.
