Men’s Jeans Outfits With Blazers
Let’s start with one of Italian men’s favorite way to wear jeans, and one that it works in almost every situation. You can wear jeans and blazer to the office, on a date night, to the supermarket, to pick up your kids from school, for a travel day, or while sightseeing on holiday.
It works so well because it creates a balanced outfit — a little bit of tailoring mixed with a clothing item that is inherently casual, relaxed and cool.
Depending on your personal style, or the way you like to dress, you might think that this combination is either too dressy for you, or too dressed down.
Well, in the next few minutes I hope to show you that you can dress up a jeans and blazer outfit even further with a few simple details.
And the opposite is also true. If you think you can’t wear a blazer because you are too cool, I will show you ways that feel less polished.
Classy Gentleman Jeans and Blazer Outfit
Don’t let the business casual fool you. These outfits can also work when you want a classy date night outfit, or you want to feel like a modern’s day Italian gentleman.
I’d like to start by showing you one of my favorite outfits in this post. This one feels very chic from a woman’s perspective, but a man might say it feels very put together, something a true Italian gentleman would wear to go to work, go on a casual date night, or even go out for a coffee on Sunday morning, if that’s his style.

If it’s not yours, I invite you to think about the way you want to be perceived. If you want to look like you’ve got it more together, you are an elegant person, and have a sense of style, this is the outfit to wear.
I also would like to draw your attention to the details. Can you see how there are no button up shirts, nor ties in this look? Yet it feels so dressed up, when in reality it’s pretty casual.
- That’s the power of well tailored pieces – both the blazer and jeans fit him like a glove and have the right cut.
- The darker colors also help dress up this outfit.
- Matching the shoe and jeans color makes it more elegant.
- The double breasted buttoned up blazer gives a very gentleman look.
- And finally the roll neck and blazer combination is a signature look Italian men love wearing in Winter because it’s so simple yet elegant. The cream and burgundy contrast makes it even more so.
- There’s something about this look that feels both timeless yet modern. It might be those chunkier shoes.

Business Casual Jeans and Blazer Outfits
Next, I want to show you two classic jeans and blazer outfits, featuring both a button up shirt and a proper pocket square.
They are very similar in terms of the pieces that make up each outfit, but one is being worn with blue jeans and the other with black jeans. This way, you have an idea on how to style both shades.

If you’re going to Italy for work, this is the kind of outfit that will help you blend in, especially if you work with a less formal company, or you are your own boss.
It’s also the type of outfit Italian business men wear on the weekend, when they go out to meet their friends, or are taking their family out.
It’s also the best outfit formula when you want to start dressing up for work, but want to still retain a casual element. I can imagine a doctor wearing this, and then removing the blazer to wear his white lab coat. It’s a great outfit for architects, paralegals working with a less formal company, or any office work.
If the pocket square feels too much, here are a few tips:
- Start without pocket square
- Wear a blazer that has a barely there pocket square
- You can also make it look barely there by letting only a tiny part show, and choosing a shade that’s closer in color to the blazer.
How To Wear Jeans With A Blazer and Coat
If it gets cold where you live, you’ll likely need to wear a coat over the blazer. That’s definitely the case for Milan, Florence, and even Rome, or anywhere further up the Italian peninsula.
Here’s the perfect outfit for that type of weather.

You might notice is the same outfit formula we just saw above, but with the coat layered on top.
While it is, it’s these details that make it look so good.
- Everything fits well.
- There’s a cohesive color palette. The outfit is mostly blue, with the beige blazer, and the matching brown shoes and bag.
- The coat has the perfect length for the tall men. If you are shorter, you might want it to be slightly less long.
I will show you more coat looks later on.
Casual Blazer Outfits With Jeans For Men
The most casual way to wear a jeans and blazer Italian-style is to layer a white tshirt underneath.
While white tshirts are not synonymous with the Italian way of dressing, Italian men still wear them, especially if they want that clean casual cool look. However, there are a few important criteria a white tshirt must have. Have a look:
- Your white tshirt must be crisp white.
- Your white tshirt must be well ironed.
- Your white tshirt must have a high quality fabric.
- Your white tshirt must look almost tailored. A fabric that holds it shape, a bright white color, and a great fit around the neck can make a simple white tshirt feel tailored.
- Your white tshirt must not fit well; it should be neither too tight nor too baggy.
With that in mind, let me show you two very similar outfits with a white tshirt, jeans and blazer. I am keeping the blazer fairly similar, so I can show you that this look can work with different jeans colors.

While they are similar, the outfits are not the same. You can see that the first one feels more put together, and that’s because of the tiny pocket square detail and the belt. The darker jeans contribute to creating that affect.
Smart Casual Men’s Jeans Outfit Ideas With Blazers
If business casual feels too formal but casual feels too dressed down, let me show you two looks that fit just in between, and they are all very Italian-street-style.

They are all different, but here are few points to keep in mind if you want to create a jeans and blazer outfit that feels this way, neither too dressed up nor too dressed down.
- Match the blazer and tshirt. It suddenly elevates the tshirt outfit, and it looks both timeless and modern.
- Wear a polo shirt instead of a simple tshirt. It dresses up the outfit while keeping it casual.
- Opt for loafers and no belt to make it feel more modern and casual.
- Wear more classic leather lace up shoes and a matching belt to dress it up just a little more.
If you like preppy casual, you are going to love the next two looks.
The first is very simple and classic. We are taking the business casual jeans and blazer outfit formula and making it look less formal but still elegant. That’s because we have chosen a blazer that feels timeless but less corporate, we haven’t added any pocket square, and we have layered jumper. The choice of the v neck and the grey color make this look feel more casual.

The second is really special and works beautifully because it feels very curated but also very relaxed, and that’s something you can achieve by paying attention to the little details.
In this case, the man is doing all of the below:
- The light wash jeans make the outfit feel more casual and cool.
- The jeans fold give the look a relaxed Italian feel, perfect for transitioning into Spring.
- The choice of the checked blazer gives the outfit a timeless feel, especially when paired with the maroon red tie.
- The tie and white button up shirt give that classic look, and so does the trench coat.
- The trench coat style feels a little more modern, which makes the outfit feel more casual.

Winter Men’s Jeans Outfits With Coats
Whether you are travelling to Italy in Winter, or want to dress like an Italian at home, have a look at these outfit ideas.

The outfits go from very casual to slightly dressier. The first one is more cool, while the second and fourth feel more classic; the third is casual and modern, but also feel unique because of the coat color choice.
Men’s Jeans and Jacket Outfits
Travelling to Italy in Spring or Fall? If so, this is the type of outfit you should pack to feel put together, but also comfortable, and have enough layers to take you from warmer to cooler weather situations.
I am adding them in this order: going from Spring to late Fall. We are skipping Summer because the next two sections are all about that season.

You can see how many of the tips I have shared earlier in this post have been applied here. These include the matching top and jacket, the perfectly rolled jeans, the jumper layer, the perfect fit, the no belt in most of these outfits, and how lighter colors make an outfit feel more casual while darker ones dress it up.
Casual Men’s Jeans Outfits With Shirt
If you are going to Italy between April and June these are the type of jeans outfits you want to pack. You can also pack a jacket and a blazer, although in certain areas it will get too hot to wear them.

Here’s how I like to think about the weather in Italy this time of the year:
April & May – can be chilly in Northern Italy, and that includes Milan and further up, as well as Bologna and Florence. Rome can get very hot, where you’ll need a short sleeve or a light shirt.
June – it is Summer and heatwave time in Italy, so you’ll likely want to wear jeans only until the 10th of the month. The weather quickly gets unbearably hot beyond that.
Italian Style Men Jeans Outfits For Summer
If where you live Summers don’t get that hot, these jeans outfit can be perfect to wear. They are also great if you are travelling to Northern Europe in Summer and love Italian men fashion.
I am giving you examples including lighter and brighter colors, as those are more appropriate for the warmer season.
