Spring is the perfect time to refresh and upgrade your wardrobe, whether you’re travelling or simply want to elevate your everyday outfits.
And the good news? You don’t need a huge shopping spree to do it. With a few smart styling tweaks, you can shop your own wardrobe and wear the pieces you already own in a fresh, new way.
In today’s post, I’ll show you exactly how to do that, with Italian style in mind. I’m sharing 15 men spring outfits spotted in Milan.

Men Spring Outfits To Try This Season
Before I start sharing the outfits, let me tell you what to expect from this post. Most of the looks fall into the casual to smart casual category, with a stronger emphasis on smart casual.
That’s because most Italian men—especially Milanese, which is where I looked for inspiration—tend to dress well even in everyday life.
Throughout the post, you’ll also find a few dressier options, perfect if you need to dress up for work or have a smarter event coming up.
With that in mind, let’s look at the spring outfit ideas for men, one by one.
Casual Men’s Spring Outfits
I picked just three casual outfits to show you, but they are going to serve you well. At least, you shall be able to find one you like.
The first one is the most classic casual outfit you will an Italian wearing, usually on a Sunday, or maybe a bank holiday, where comfort and relaxation is the theme for the day. Of course, some Italians might wear this to work. For example I can see the stationery man wearing this outfit.
You might think this is not casual because it features a button up shirt, but for us Italians, wearing sneaker and jeans is definitely a casual look. The puffer gilet makes it even more so.

Next, is this cool Milan guy outfit, that’s perfect for Spring but also early Summer when there’s still a chill in the air. While this outfit doesn’t feature jeans, we can still classify it as a casual spring men outfit because of the sneakers and the relaxed clothing pieces – the baggy linen trousers and oversized tshirt.

If you think the first look is too classic, and the second is too cool, or perhaps you prefer a casual Spring outfit with jeans, the next one gives you a bit of both worlds. It’s classic, casual, but more modern than the first one. Of course, you can choose different colors. The more colors you add, the more casual the look will feel. While this combination makes it look casual but put together.

Smart Casual Men Spring Outfit Ideas
Did you love the cream and white Spring outfit I just showed you, but think it’s too cool? If so, here’s a smarter option.

There’s nothing more seasonal than a light cream and white outfit for this time of the year, provided those colors suit your skin tone.
If you are asking what makes this look smart casual, look at how each piece fits. First of all, they all have a very tailored fit and look. Secondly, the monotone palette gives the outfit a smarter look. And overall this look is both simple but in an impeccable way.
If you like this combination of garments, or maybe you love wearing utilitarian jackets, have a look at the next one. It’s still on the smarter end but feels a little more casual because of the color contrast between the different items.

This is also a great option if you love that outfit but can’t wear pale colors, likely because you are very fair.
Speaking of colors, let me show you a way to wear white if it doesn’t suit your skin. You can wear it as a trousers, and then wear more flattering colors near your face. Of course, the colors can be different than the ones in this example.

This outfit is also the perfect example to reiterate that wearing a blazer can feel casual or smart casual, and not always dressy. Here, it’s actually the blazer that tips the balance towards the smartest side. In this case, the blazer has a modern creative vibe that makes it look more casual than it would be in a different color.
On the other hand, here’s an example of how to dress down a blazer that’s dressier. The jeans helps, but it’s the hem roll paired with the socks and the loafers colors, and the fact that nothing really matches that makes this outfit feels creative and cool, more casual than you would expect a blazer and shirt outfit to look. Yet, it works really well.

Finally, here’s a blazer Spring look that’s smart casual but sits in between. It’s neither too classic nor too modern, it doesn’t feel creative nor too cool. It’s an outfit you can wear shopping, for brunch, to lunch, and even on dinner during a Summer vacation somewhere breezier. You can also wear this for work, depending on your position.

Just a note:
Before we move to the next outfit, I’d like to mention something. These are just a few outfit ideas I spotted a few Italians wearing. Of course, they don’t represent every Spring outfit you will see on Italian streets. But the way I have curated it gives you a bit of everything. You have got very casual, smart casual, and dressy. And within each category, you have more classic and simple looks, and bolder fun ones. The aim of this article is to inspire you, so pick what you like and leave the rest behind. Most importantly, look at the outfits as a whole but also as a puzzle. You can easily switch trousers, shoes, jackets, colors, fabrics, and even cuts of the garments to make them suit your style and your body. In few words, get inspired but also think outside the box.

I still have two more smart casual outfits I’d like to show you. These ones feel very classic, the kind of outfit a well dressed Italian gentleman would wear on his casual day.
I know, for many of you these might not feel casual, but Italians think different. Of course, this can be your dressier outfit, the one you wear to a nice lunch out, or maybe a work meeting that doesn’t require wearing a suit.
These two outfits are very similar, but the first is more classic and the second one feels more modern. That’s mainly due to the cut of the trousers and jacket, which should remind you that every detail truly matters when putting an outfit together. Having said that, sometimes, all you have to do is have a try on session, look in the mirror and see what makes you feel good!
Here are the two outfits I have been chatting about :).

Dressy Men Spring Outfits
For this last section, I picked just 5 outfit ideas – a mix of classic and unique. If you are looking for dressy suit ideas for Spring, you’ll find plenty more here.
In fact, only one of these is a full on suit. I liked how unique the color was, and being a very trendy color for this Spring Summer season I felt called to share it. Of course, trendy or not, if it suits you, this suit can stay in your wardrobe forever.

Next, we have a spezzato outfit. In case you didn’t know, spezzato is the way Italians call styling two different, non-matching tailored pieces together. This also happens to be the only one with a tie. But the colors are brighter, and that yellow pocket square adds a touch of Spring that makes this outfit dressy but also very unique.

If you have a smarter occasion for Spring and want a safe outfit to wear, I suggest picking from these two.

Don’t forget this link will give you even more ideas.
Finally, why not try that Italian styling habit of layering a shirt and jumper under your blazer? Here’s a seasonal way to do it.
Don’t love pink? Swap it for a light yellow, a pastel blue or green sweater.
