Ciao. This list of affordable Italian bag brands is coming to the rescue of all the girlies who want a high quality Italian bag at a lower price than Gucci or Armani.
If you’ve read my 11 Iconic Italian Designer Purses post, and browsed the different styles, you know those prices are not accessible to everyone.
I don’t own any of those bags, although I do have n.3 on my wishlist.
The good thing about Italian leather bags is that you don’t have to buy a designer brand to get a high quality purse that has a beautiful, well thought out design, and can complement your Italian inspired outfits well.
Many affordable Italian bag brands offer just that level of quality and style. In this article, I’m excited to share with you not only the most popular affordable brands but also some lesser-known gems that, in my opinion, are even more special.
These brands offer options that can fit a wider range of budgets without compromising on that coveted Italian craftsmanship and design.
Get ready to discover 11 amazing handbag brands that will elevate your style without breaking the bank. Trust me, you’re going to love these alternatives to the high-end designer names!

I am sharing my current favorite Furla bags above. Have a look.

Furla
Furla, another Italian fashion powerhouse, has been in the game since 1927. Founded in Bologna by Aldo and Margherita Furlanetto, they started out distributing women’s accessories. It wasn’t until 1955 that they opened their first Furla store on Via Ugo Bassi.
From day one, Furla has stayed true to its craftsmanship roots, focusing on producing bags with modern and sophisticated designs. They’re all about combining simplicity with style – something Giovanna Furlanetto explains beautifully in her book about the brand. If you’re a business owner or just love learning about brands, I’d recommend reading it. You can find it for free here.
Furla bags are known for their refined designs, elegant shapes, and wide array of colors. They offer a unique blend of elegance and functionality that’s hard to beat.
Prices range from $200 for a small crossbody to $600 for a larger bag.
The Metropolis was a very popular model, but it is currently not available on the site. I am sure you can find a second hand though.
If you look at the current models, the Goccia line is stunning. It’s also a mix of a classic and a very practical bag, that’s perfect for the Italian woman. It reminds me of the first iconic designer bag on this list. This one in Agave is stunning.
You can check out Furla’s current collection on their official website.
PINKO
PINKO was born in the late ’80s from an idea by Pietro Negra. This was and still is a family business. In fact, both the wife and daughters are very much involved.
PINKO caters to the independent, strong, and sexy woman, aware of her femininity and very determined to express it – especially through her style choices. The collections are characterized by a unique, eclectic, original, and contemporary style.
Pinko has a higher price range, starting at under $400 and going up to $1500. However, many of their styles are much more affordable than the very high-end Italian designer brands.
Although a little more eclectic than I would go for, the Half Moon baby leather bag and the Small satin shoulder bag are both under $400.
They ship worldwide.
You can browse their collection here.

Coccinelle
Coccinelle is an Italian fashion brand that’s been making waves in the high-end leather goods market. Founded in 1978 by Giacomo Mazzieri in Sala Baganza, near Parma, this brand has grown from a local gem to an international success story.
From day one, Coccinelle set out to create a range of chic, well-designed accessories that any woman could use daily. They’re all about combining artisanal craftsmanship with top-notch Italian leather, always keeping an eye on current trends. The Coccinelle woman? She’s a force of nature – optimistic, stylish, with modern tastes but a keen eye for quality in everything she chooses.
In 2000 they opened their first shop in Milan, inside Palazzo Valerio. That location is no longer in use, but you can now find them across Milan, Italy, Europe and even internationally with several shops.
Mini bags start at $290 while the larger tote bags are around $400.
The most iconic Coccinelle Bag is the classic Beat, which comes in many sizes and shapes and has matching shoes. My favorite colors are the Gerardine red and the Warm Taupe.
If you’re interested in checking out the Beat collection or any other Coccinelle bags, you can find them here.

Love Moschino
Love Moschino burst onto the scene in 2008 as a playful, vibrant, and super trendy offshoot of the main Moschino brand. Think of it as the fun-loving younger sibling in the Moschino family.
This brand is all about breaking the rules of the dress code. It’s designed for men and women (and even kids) who love to create their own unconventional, personal style. Expect to see pop art prints, hearts, golden chains, big bold text, and bright colors. The style? Ironic, surprising, and a bit cheeky.
Prices range between $200 and $300.
One of the most popular lines is the one featuring the bold chunky metallic logo on the front. That’s a feature of all their bags, even though the size and finish of the logo might change.
If you, like me, love something more minimalist and classic, skip this brand.
You can check out Love Moschino’s latest collections on their official website.
Borbonese
Borbonese is a historic Italian brand of bags and accessories that’s been around since 1910. Born in Turin, this brand is famous for its OP (Occhio di Pernice) suede, which has attracted a clientele that’s as elegant as it is cosmopolitan.
The brand’s idea of Italian nonchalance draws inspiration from the iconic style of the Italian bourgeoisie but with a modern twist. They’re all about sustainability and inclusivity across generations. Borbonese celebrates the independent, elegant, and cosmopolitan woman.
Prices range from $200 to $700.
The quality of the materials is evident by just looking at the website. My favorite styles include the Boston mini bag, the Marie Hobo medium, and the Nueve Bucket medium all in the stunning signature brown calfskin leather.
Unfortunately, the brand’s website only ships in Europe. But if you’re in Milan, they have a huge shop in Corso Venezia. They also have multiple stores in Turin, one in Verona and Bari, and another one in the Noventa di Piave shopping village outside Venice.
You can browse their beautiful bags here.
I also suggest checking Lyst.com if you’re having trouble finding Borbonese bags in your area.

Gianni Chiarini
Gianni Chiarini is all about pure forms, exquisite materials, and artisan craftsmanship. They create leather goods that are unique, sophisticated, and wearable.
This brand combines the best of traditional Italian leather-working with the needs of the contemporary woman. The result? Versatile, iconic products dedicated to every independent, modern woman who demands quality, aesthetics, and functionality.
Gianni Chiarini bags are distinguished by their refined simplicity. They leave the wearer free to interpret them according to her own personal style, creating a unique and individual everyday narrative. These bags embody a sophisticated, cosmopolitan ideal of elegance.
While browsing the website I immediately noticed a good problem. The prices are incredibly good for the quality and beautiful design you get. And that’s a problem because there are too many styles I like and want to buy. Let me list the top 4:
- Clelia in maroon
- Kaia in maroon
- Brooke in plum
- Meg in cherry
You can see the pattern in my color preferences, and that has nothing to do with the current trends. I have always loved this color for Fall and Winter. What about you?
The above models range between $200 and $300.
Gianni Chiarini ships worldwide and you can also find it on Farfetch.

The Bridge
The Bridge is a story of excellent materials and skilled craftsmanship. It’s the Tuscany way of life embodied in bags and accessories, characterized by the natural, timeless elegance of full-grain Italian leather, vegetable-tanned and polished until it becomes soft and incredibly luminous.
This brand expresses the value of made in Italy by drawing on a romantically retro English style aesthetic. While fashions come and go, the elegance of The Bridge remains. It’s classic, unmistakable, and lived-in. And it’s always inextricably linked to a slow life, nomadic and ecological attitude.
The prices range between $350 and $600. Good news for international shoppers – this brand ships worldwide.
My current favorite is the Federica Hobo in Grape. It’s a perfect example of their ability to blend classic style with a modern twist.
You can check out The Bridge’s full collection on their official website.
Mandarina Duck
Mandarina Duck, an Italian fashion company specializing in leather goods and travel items, hit the scene in 1977. Their icon? The cute, colorful Mandarin duck – a traveler and lifelong mate.
This brand is all about innovation, offering creative and original solutions with a contemporary, informal style. They cater to the demanding, curious, positive, and on-the-move consumer.
Mandarina Duck feels like the Italian Longchamp, but with all the quality and timeless design features you’d expect from Italian purses.
If you want an Italian alternative to the Longchamp, with a soft leather exterior and canvas interior, check out the Mellow Leather medium Shopper Bag. It’s available in beige and black. Of course, this doesn’t fold, but once empty, it won’t take up lots of space in your luggage.
Prices range between $100 and $400, and they deliver worldwide.
You can explore their collection here.

Liu Jo
Liu Jo was founded in 1995 in Carpi, near Modena. Interestingly, while the brand oozes femininity, it was created by two brothers: Marco and Vannis Marchi. The brand name comes from the nicknames Marco Marchi (JO) and his ex-girlfriend (LIU) used in their youth.
Liu Jo stands for freedom and expression. It’s a brand for free, eclectic souls who live life to the full, no matter what it throws at them.
Their prices start as low as $80 and go up to $300 for the Studded Leather Shoulder bag.
Liu Jo focuses on selling in store and not online. However, you should check Farfetch, as they carry many styles.
You can browse Liu Jo bags here.

Patrizia Pepe
Born in Florence in 1993, Patrizia Pepe is the brainchild of Patrizia Bambi and Claudio Orrea. The name “Pepe” instantly evokes a sense of irreverent sensuality, full of contrasts and opposites. And that’s exactly why they chose to add it to Patrizia’s first name.
They wanted to create a brand that combined everyday practicality with glamor, offering versatile solutions for women, wearable for every occasion and time of the day. And I think they nailed it.
Patrizia Pepe is a versatile and cross-functional brand, characterized by sophisticated colors, cheeky prints, and sinuous lines.
Prices range from $200 to $700.
I don’t love the insect logo, but if you don’t mind they have interesting styles. My favorite is the Fly leather shoulder bag with chain.
They ship outside Europe, including the USA.
Check out their collection here.
Biagini
I wouldn’t categorize this last Italian handbag brand as affordable, since prices go up as high as $10k. However, you can find breathtaking designs for just $500.
I understand this brand is not for all budgets, but if you want to splurge a little, I would consider this one, especially if you want an Italian high-quality bag that’s not your classic everyday purse, but more of a statement bag. Of course, you can still wear it daily.
Biagini, established in Bologna in 1968 under the name “Silvano Biagini,” was taken over by the Amidei family from Modena in 1999.
The core philosophy of the BIAGINI brand emphasizes authenticity and a deep passion for craftsmanship, blending traditional and modern techniques that continually evolve.
Their process begins with a meticulous focus on materials, particularly the careful selection of premium leathers sourced from top Italian tanneries known for their high-quality standards.
Their products are entirely made in Modena.
My favorite styles include the Baloon mini, Deva mini, and Clutch styles.
Biagini delivers worldwide.
You can explore their collection on their website.
Before You Go
What do you think? Have you found one or two new favorite Italian bag brands that are more affordable?
Writing this post has introduced three new Italian bag brands that I plan to shop from – Gianni Chiarini, Biagini, and Borbonese. So I hope that applies to you too.
Of course, there are many more mid-tier Italian bag brands we can explore, and I plan to continue my research and share the results in a future update.
For that reason, and to refer back to this list, I suggest you bookmark this page.
